Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds have yet another reason to rejoice! The company has announced that they just reached their one billionth Angry Birds download.

The birds vs. pigs game has reached this milestone just six months after it topped 500 million downloads.

Rovio thanked fans on its official blog, "Angry Birds games have now been downloaded more than a billion times - THANK YOU to all of our incredible fans! This is only the beginning of our story, keep your eyes peeled for what's coming up next from Rovio!"

Rovio became a global phenomenon after it launched Angry Birds for Apple's iPhone in late 2009. While it has plans to launch several more titles in 2012, the company is also cashing in on the Angry Birds craze by building amusement parks and merchandise which is selling like hot cakes.

With business going strong, Rovio released its first financial figures and it is speculated that it might go public.
