Apple is set to launch its new Smartphone platform that will enable Smart phone devices such as iPads and iPhones to control home lights, security systems and other connected equipments.
According to Cnet, the new 'software platform' which will be unveiled at Worldwide Developer Conference next month, will be built into the iOS devices- a move seen as a 'big play' to challenge device giants Samsung and Google.
As tech companies look to develop smartphone's reach, home mechanization seems to be one of the new area for development and growth.
Reports suggest that Apple has already made inroads with the automobile sector as it announced plans to integrate iOS into car dashboard screens. Apple's iBeacon location-sensing technology, which debuted late last year on devices running iOS 7, is already in use for indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, and location-relevant promotions.
