Motorola, or shall I say Motorola Mobility has been on a roll recently launching some pretty impressive handsets including the Droid RAZR and leaking the sure to be a smash hit Droid 4. With those smart phones falling into the upper echelon of power and class, Motorola has not forgotten about the mid and entry level tiers. As the high end gets higher, the lower rungs of course become more advanced and ultimately lead to the smart phones for all! Motorola has announced two new devices and they seem to be pulling up the rear with some excellence found within the MOTOLUXE and Motorola Defy Mini.

The two new phones were announced on Thursday and unfortunately have no mention on a stateside release. The MOTOLUXE and the new Defy Mini are slated for a Spring time release and will be made available to end users in the Greater China, Latin America and Europe areas.

The Motorola Defy Mini as you may know is a new variation of the legendary Defy line up and surely sets the new standard for the names future. The Defy Mini is said to be "life proof", which means it is built on a rugged design and is water and dust proof. How long before this proofing is a standard across all phones and manufacturers? Also known as the XT320 the new Defy Mini is very similar to the Defy + which was launched earlier last year, however, it is a bit smaller in size. The Defy Mini's screen measures in at 3.2 inches and sports a 320×480 pixel resolution that is protected by a Scratch resistant glass. Internally the Defy Mini gets its go from the best of Android 2.3 and is powered by a single core 600 MHz processor. The seamless experience of Android is then backed by 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM. You can also expect expandable memory up to 32GB with its microSD, microSDHC card slot. On the back side of the new Defy Mini you will be treated to a 3 mega pixel camera with LED flash, auto focus and video recording capabilities. Up front a VGA quality camera will give you your video conferencing needs on demand. The Defy Mini also comes with GPS connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0 and DLNA connectivity. The Defy Mini seems like a perfect little phone that can keep up with your day, day in and day out. What do you think?

So maybe the Defy Mini is not your cup of tea? Well good thing for multiple options right? The MOTOLUXE is the launch brother with the Defy Mini, while its not "life proof" it can surely give you amazing performance and connectivity. The MOTOLUXE is built around a 4 inch LCD touch screen that offers up a 480×854 pixel resolution. Internally the MOTOLUXE runs with the power of Android version 2.3 and gets its go from a single core 800 MHz processor, a graphics processor, 512 MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM. You can also expect microSD or microSDHC memory slots for a bit of storage expansion.
