TomTom, the Dutch brand known for its standalone GPS navigators among other things, has brought its line of sports watches to India. At an event in New Delhi today, TomTom launched four fitness wearables: two entry-level GPS watches for novice runners and two high-end watches with built-in heart rate monitors.

The TomTom Runner and Multi-Sport GPS watches deliever real time stats such as time, distance, pace, speed and calories burnt to runners, swimmers and cyclists, while the TomTom Runner Cardio and Multi-Sport Cardio have built-in heart rate monitors that provide heart rate information in addition to everything else. A handy one-button control mechanism allows users to easily swap between three training modes and access menus.

All four watches can also sync with existing fitness plaforms like MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, Strava and TrainingPeaks among others.

This marks TomTom's entry into the Indian wearable market, which has so far seen homegrown brands like GOQii and international brands like Garmin making fitness bands. San Francisco-based Fitbit is also expected to enter India this year.

The watches start at Rs. 13,000 for the basic, heart rate monitor-free version and go up to Rs. 23,500 for the highest-end multi sport cardio watch. They'll be available to buy on Flipkart.
