Why Twitter is making fun of the brand new Apple Pencil

When Apple released the first iPhone in 2007, the company’s late CEO, Steve Jobs, famously scoffed at styluses that some smartphones used back in the day.

When Apple released the first iPhone in 2007, the company’s late CEO, Steve Jobs, famously scoffed at styluses that some smartphones used back in the day.

“Who wants a stylus?” Jobs said on stage at the iPhone introduction? “You have to get them, put them away, and you lose them. Yuck. No one wants a stylus.”

Eight years later, Apple has introduced a brand new $99 stylus called the Apple Pencil as an accessory to a new tablet aimed at professionals and artists called the iPad Pro. The 12-9-inch tablet allows users to use the Apple Pencil to sketch, draw, paint, take notes and manipulate complex architectural drawings among other things.
