Street food merchant simulator "Cart Life" can count both the Seumas McNally Grand Prize and Nuovo Award for innovation among its haul from the Independent Game Festival Awards on March 27.

The monochromatic title, available free from richardhofmeier.com/cartlife, allows players to step into the well-worn shoes of single mom and Coffee Hut proprietor Melanie or Ukranian immigrant and newspaper stand owner Andrus.

Visitors who pony up for the $5 Everything Edition or $25 Delux-O Edition are given the additional option of attempting to make bank as struggling bagel vendor Vinny.

Also benefiting from multiple wins at the IGF was space exploration game "FTL: Faster Than Life" from Chinese studio Subset Games.

It took Excellence in Design, won the Audience Award public vote, and is readily available from the ftlgame.com website, GOG.com, and the Steam Network.

Also elevated to the winners' podium on the night was the striking "Kentucky Route Zero" for Visual Excellence, upcoming synesthetic platform game "140" (from the director of previous IGF winner "Limbo"), and off-kilter fireplace title "Little Inferno," while another free game, the insanely colorful air-skiing fantasy "Zineth," won the Student Award.
