A 19-year-old man was found dead at a paying guest accommodation in Sector 38 of Gurgaon on Tuesday night. The parents of the deceased, who had just passed class 12, alleged that their son was killed.
T he police have identified the deceased as Vishal Thakran. He was found hanging in a room in which his friends lived.
The police said he left his home in Islampur village on May 23 for a friend’s place after securing 70% in class 12 examination, the result of which was declared last week.
“The body was found hanging from the ceiling fan and there was no suicide note,” a police official said.
T hakran’s parents on Wednesday alleged that their son was hanged after someone murdered him. Based on their complaint, the police registered an FIR under Section 302 (murder) of the India Penal Code against unknown persons at the Sadar police station on Wednesday.
The police have detained two friends of Thakran and the owner of the paying guest accommodation for questioning.
“We are examining the CCTV camera footage and questioning the two friends and the PG owner. The FIR for murder was lodged based on the complaint filed by his parents,” sub- inspector Sandeep Ku m a r, the i nve s t i g at i o n officer, said.
