Bids for construction of the Rs. 27-crore flyover at Subhash Chowk on Sohna Road will open on Thursday. The company which will quote the lowest price bid for the 600-metre flyover will bag the project. Three companies had earlier qualified the Haryana Urban Development Authority’s (Huda) technical scrutiny process.
“One of the three shortlisted firms will bag the big-ticket flyover project after proper scrutiny by a panel of engineers by Thursday afternoon,” said RK Kakkar, superintending engineer (SE), Huda.
According to the official, the three companies have expertise in construction of bridges and flyovers in other cities.
“One of the tender criteria is that the company must have an excellent track record of constructing flyovers. If the three companies fit our criteria, we will go by the lowest price bid formula,” added the SE.
The project is scheduled to complete in 18 months from the date of award of tender. The flyover will ease traffic chaos and bring relief to commuters using the clogged Sohna Road which has numerous malls, office complexes and residential buildings.
The flyover will provide smooth transit between Huda City Centre and Hero Honda Chowk on the Gurgaon Expressway.
Besides, another flyover has been proposed between the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) and Sohna Road intersection near Badshahpur.
The two flyovers will solve the traffic mess by 80% in New Gurgaon.
