5 theft cases reported in a day, three held

Five separate cases of theft were reported in the city on Friday.

Five separate cases of theft were reported in the city on Friday.

In all the cases, robbers decamped with cash, laptops and other valuables from houses as well as commercial establishments.

In the first incident, miscreants stole Rs 6 lakh from a house situated in the Housing Board Colony, Sector 31. Owner Gaurav Joshi, a teacher, and his wife were away when the miscreants broke open the door lock and entered the house.

In another incident, burglars struck at a house in Sector 9 and fled with cash and jewellery worth thousands. The occupants of the house were away when the robbery was committed.

In the third incident, two laptops and other valuables were stolen in the Shiv Vihar area.

In yet another case, a generator was stolen from the premises of a company in Udyog Vihar area. The manager has filed a complaint against unidentified persons.

In the fifth incident, three robbers fled with auto parts from a company in Manesar. Three accused were held at and sent to 14-day judicial custody.
