A 34-year-old real estate agent, who went missing under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday, returned home on Saturday night. According to the police, Meshu Ahluwalia, a resident of Vipul Greens, said he was abducted by two men from Sector 44. The police, however, have questioned his narrative.
Police had recovered his BMW car outside a Sector-44 park late night on Wednesday. The Sushant Lok police registered a case of abduction on Thursday against five men after they found an extortion SMS saved in the draft file of Ahluwalia’s mobile lying on the front seat of the car.
The police are interrogating five real estate firm owners in connection with the abduction after the victim’s wife complained against them.
But after his return, Ahluwalia told the police that he was on his way back home from Galleria Market on Wednesday when two men stopped his car after he took a right turn from Sector 44 crossing near Epicentre.
He thought they wanted a lift but they took him on gunpoint and covered his face with a black cloth. He was pushed inside the car and the men drove for six hours. After that, he does not remember anything as he was given some sedative.
Ahluwalia told then police he was not given food for two days and he survived on water.
The police, on the other hand, said the security guard at the Sector 44 park had seen the BMW parked there around 9pm. But Ahluwalia told the police that the abductors dropped him at his society gate around 9pm and he was abducted in a Tata Sumo.
Given the contradictory statements regarding the timing of the incident, the police are conducting a probe into the victim’s version of the story.
