A city court on Tuesday issued the first bail order in the multi-crore Reebok scam.
Surakshit Bhatt, one of the 11 accused presently in judicial custody was granted bail after the 31-year-old, institutional sales manager with the sportswear maker moved for bail on the ground that nothing incriminating was found against him.
The court of Sandeep Yadav, judicial magistrate, first class ordered Bhatt to be released on furnishing two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each. The court also asked Bhatt to surrender his passport to the investigating team. The court has also restrained Bhatt from going to the Reebok office unless specifically allowed by a higher court.
"We will now seek an order from the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowing him to rejoin work," said Harish Malhotra, one of Bhatt's counsel.
"Despite registration of the FIR, Bhatt continued to be on the rolls of the Reebok and his salary was being credited till today. Even his bank accounts and accounts of his family members were scrutinized but nothing wrong was found," Prashant Mendiratta, lawyer of Bhatt submitted in the bail application.
