Two suspected cab drivers, allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a Class 3 boy from Bhondsi village on Saturday, were remanded in two days’ police custody by a city court on Monday. Two more accused, including the mastermind, are at large, said the police.

The duo, Ajeet Singh and Ravinder Kumar, was arrested on Sunday and the cops are conducting raids to nab the other two, including mastermind Sanjay Rathore, a TV journalist, and his cousin Tinku. It is learnt that all four are natives of Bhondsi.

“The arrest of Rathore would reveal the facts; the main motive of the kidnapping is not yet clear, though they had planned to cull out a ransom of R5 lakh,” said inspector Sunil Yadav, CIA-5, Sohna in-charge.

According to police, Rathore had planned the kidnapping along with his cousin Tinku. They took help from Singh, the son of the caretaker of Sunita Farms at Bhondsi, where the victim was held captive, and Kumar.

On Saturday morning, when the victim, Prince Raghav, was ready to go to a local stadium, the goons were waiting outside the house. As soon as he stepped out, they grabbed Raghav and took him to a van stationed nearby. He was then taken to Sunita Farms and locked in a room.

The building, however, was old and the bolts of the door were weak. After some effort from Raghav, the rickety door gave in. He managed to get home and narrated the incident to his mother.
