Why illegal arms are in high demand in Gurgaon?
People want guns not for safety, but consider it as a status symbol. Carrying a gun has become a style statement for them. So they need guns.

What are the challenges police face in countering illegal arms trade?
Criminals come from other states to the city with the migrating population. They get in touch with those who want weapons. We don't have their data and information and it becomes difficult to trace them.

What are the steps taken by the police department?

We have set up a good intelligence network to deal with this problem. Besides, we are also coordinating with the neighbouring NCR cities. Recently several illegal arms rackets in the city were busted.

Are you satisfied with the current law and order situation?
No doubt there are a number of crimes taking place in the city, but as a law enforcement agency, we are doing our best. We have solved major cases like the toll plaza and the Hayatpur cases. We have not given the criminals a free hand to commit crime.
