Cop charged with rioting

gurgaon Updated: Jan 20, 2012 01:28 IST

Three persons, including one Haryana police constable, were booked on Wednesday for rioting and dumping material on an industrial plot.

According to the complaint, businessman Naresh and Mandeep had been dumping waste building material on a Udyog Vihar Phase 2 plot owned by Suresh Saini, a resident of Sanjay Colony and a former sarpanch.

Saini approached the accused on January 2 and requested them to clear the area, but to no avail. He visited them again after one week, but the businessmen still ignored his pleas.

However, when he went again for the third time, constable Jai Bhagwan threatened him not to say anything again, else they would kill him.

After a case was registered, the police constable has been absconding. The other two were arrested and released on bail later.
