On March 13, the gang, armed with a country-made pistol and sticks held a member of the security staff of an under-construction building in Golf Course Extension Road at gunpoint and stole tools and electronic items worth around Rs 14 lakh.

A gang, which stole tools and materials worth Rs 14 lakh at gunpoint from an under-construction site in Sector 62 last week, was also behind a similar theft at gunpoint at another under-construction five-star hotel in the city in February, the police said on Monday.

Four members of the gang were arrested on Sunday, and during interrogation, they confessed to have been involved in the other case, said Shukarpal Singh, station house officer(SHO) of Sector 65 police station. “In both the cases, the gang members covered their faces and held the security staff at gunpoint. The two leaders of the 15-member gang are on the run,” the SHO said.
