The Millennium City is all set to hold the third edition of the prestigious Avantha Masters golf tournament, country’s only event tri-sanctioned by the European Tour, the Asian Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
The tournament, which carries prize money of 1.8 million euro, will be held at DLF Golf and Country Club here from February 16 to 19.
The organisers claimed on Monday that the event had been getting a huge response from acclaimed players and sponsors. Golfers from across the world will participate in the tournament. The list of participants includes 57 European Tour players, 47 Asian Tour players and 22 PGTI players.
There will be another six sponsor spots. The organisers said that a 50,000 square feet television compound will be set up at the golf club.
“Our on ground facilities are of international standards,” said Yogesh Agarwal, MD at Avantha Group.
“Ace Indian golfers like Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur are expected to play at the tournament,” said Padamjit Sandhu, director, PGTI.
