Development to get a boost as Hooda grants Rs. 605.48 crore for Gurgaon

The Haryana government, which has been facing flak for neglecting development in southern Haryana including Gurgaon, did a reversal on Monday when Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda approved budget estimates worth Rs. 890.77 crore for development works in the state.
Of the total allocated budget, Gurgaon has received the lion’s share of Rs. 605.48 crore.
Hooda, who was presiding over the 34th meeting of the sub-committee of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) in Chandigarh on Monday, announced that of the total R890.77 crore, a sum of Rs. 605.48 crore would be spent on various upgrade works in Gurgaon.
Likewise, Rs. 68.55 crore had been earmarked for Sonepat, Rs. 102.09 crore for Faridabad, Rs. 62.94 for Rohtak, Rs. 15.50 crore for Bahadurgarh, Rs. 13.82 crore for Kurukshetra, Rs. 12.05 crore for Jind and R10.34 crore for development in Kaithal.
Of the Rs. 605.48 crore announced for Gurgaon, Rs. 253.02 crore has been announced to provide master storm water drainage along the master road in the newly earmarked sectors from 81-98, Gurgaon, under the master plan-2031.
Nearly Rs. 87.52 crore has been allocated for the construction of Kost Nullah (drain) with RCC (concrete) box drain from Sector 58 to Sohna Road, Gurgaon.
The meeting also approved the special repair of the Surajkund Road from Gurgaon Mor-Ankhir Chowk-Suraj Kund Chowk to Pehladpur border in Faridabad district at a cost of Rs. 85.05 crore.
Huda also approved the construction of the Badshahpur Nullah with RCC box drain from Sohna Road to NH-8 at a cost of Rs. 77.23 crore.
A sum of Rs. 63.91 crore will be spent on the construction of railway portion of the rail overbridge on the Delhi-Rewari section near Basai Dhankot station.
The authority also approved the master water supply scheme for zones III, IV, V, VI, VII & VIII, Gurgaon, and construction of the 3rd unit of 22 MGD at 2nd Water Works Chandu Budhera, Gurgaon, at a cost of Rs. 38.30 crore.
A sum of Rs. 34.6 crore was provisioned to be spent on the construction of a flyover at Subhash Chowk along the road from Bhaktawar Chowk to Hero Honda Chowk, while R24.41 crore has been allocated for strengthening the existing MG Road (Iffco Chowk to Delhi border), Gurgaon.
Similarly, Rs. 35.20 crore will be spent on the construction of roads, parking and pavement etc in Sector 21 (commercial), Rohtak, while R27.74 crore is for the development of roads and pavements in Sector 18, Rohtak.
Huda also approved the budget estimate of Rs. 26.49 crore for augmentation of the Master Water Supply Scheme (zone-I) Urban Estate, Gurgaon, and Rs. 17.04 crore for an indoor stadium in Faridabad.
