Five-year-old Vaanya Chadha, who was critically injured when a security guard’s gun accidentally went off at her residence on August 21, is out of danger, her family has said.

The family hopes to see her off life support by Wednesday. “She is out of danger now. The doctors might put her off life support tomorrow,” said Vaanya’s uncle, Himanshu Chawla. According to her uncle, Vaanya, who is admitted in the ICU of Medanta - The Medicity hospital, underwent a second surgery on Monday.

Eight of the 23 bullet pellets lodged in her body were removed. “There are 15 more to be removed, but she is much better now,” Chawla added.

Meanwhile, two Gurgaon police teams have been camping in Aurangabad in Bihar in search of the 21-year-old security guard, Rahul Kumar, who is absconding.

Vaanya Chadha, a student of The Shri Ram School, is a resident of Trinity Tower in DLF phase-5.
