The city police on Wednesday registered an Fir against nearly 115 protesters who blocked the Gurgaon-Faridabad expressway on Wednesday morning.

Five police personnel rushed to the spot in the morning to control the situation after the agitation started around 9am. Five more police officers were deployed after an hour.

“The protest was peaceful so we did not need a special force. An FIR has been registered against 115 unidentified protesters,” said Surinder Phogat, station house officer, DLF City Phase 1 police station.

The protesters have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for obstructing traffic flow and stopping a public servant from discharging his duties. Both offences are bailable.

The protesters, including women and children, blocked the road for more than two hours, leaving hundreds of office-goers stranded.
