While Indian youth have a passion for western music, a group of people from France are mesmerised with India.
The group, comprising three French nationals, is here to explore Indian music and shoot a documentary on Zangoora — The Gypsy Prince (Bollywood musical stage show) at the Kingdom of Dreams.
The documentary will be based on Zangoora and how artists use diverse forms of music to express their feelings and emotions through dance.
For them, Indian music is a rightful blend of classical and contemporary mix.
Dominique Canties, a well-known producer from France; Laurent Gold Stein, producer and fashion photographer and Stephane Ferrara, an actor-cum-director find Indian music soothing and unmatchable.
“Indian music is exceptionally soothing to the senses. Sometimes, I feel other forms of music have not evolved over the years. But the kind of blend I find in Indian music is unsurpassed,” said Ferrara.
Cantien, who has a keen sense of music, told Hindustan Times, “For the past one year, we are doing research on Indian music. It has endless aspects and each is different and melodious.”
“We want to bridge the gap between India and France and exchange ideas in music. We want French people to know this side of India,” added Cantien.
