A class 10 student has been booked for not submitting her examination sheet to the invigilators during her board exam.

The cause for non submission is yet to be ascertained by the police. The police said that the teachers claimed that fear of mathematics made the student take her answer sheet home.

The student has been booked under Section 406 (punishment for breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code by the Gurgaon police. The accused is a student of Indian Senior Secondary School, Turkapur, Pataudi.

The class 10 mathematics exam had started at 2:30 pm and continued till 5pm. The exam was arranged and conducted through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

As soon as the teachers found out that one answer sheet was missing, they informed the police and filed a case against the student. As per the rules, the students have to write their answers in the booklet, which includes both the question paper and the answer sheet, and submit them later.

After 5 pm, the invigilator counted the answer papers and found that one sheet was missing, the police said. Later, they checked the names of all students and their answer sheets and found that the girl’s answer sheet was not with them.

“Investigation is on. A woman inspector has been sent to the student’s house. We will take the required action,” Suresh Singh, station house officer, Pataudi police station, said.
