Gurgaon: Former member of Gadoli gang arrested
The city police on Tuesday arrested a wanted criminal and his accomplices accused in multiple cases of theft, loot and murder and attempt to murder. Sanjeet Singh, alias Vidrohi, had a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head.
Sanjeet is also believed to have been a close associate of slain gangster Sandeep Gadoli and had been injured in a scuffle during his cremation. However, no case was registered against him in connection with the fracas.
Police said Sanjeet was also involved in the murder of Manish Gujjar. The latter was a victim of the gang war between the raging feud between the Gadoli gang and the Binder Gujjar gang. They said a country-made pistol and two live cartridges were seized from him during his arrest. Manish, brother of Binder Gujjar, a jailed gangster and former councillor, was gunned down on October 17 in Gurgaon’s New Colony area.
Sanjeet had been listed as one of the most wanted criminals in the Gurgaon police records, the cops said on Wednesday.
Sumit Kuhar, deputy commissioner of police (crime), said the Crime Branch was told that the history-sheeter, a resident of Bahuakhbarpur in Rohtak, was arrested from IMT Chowk Manesar while he was plotting another crime.
A team led by assistant sub inspector Naresh Kumar had set up a check post near the IMT chowk. They apprehended Sanjeet while he was walking towards the Sector road along with his friend Ajeet Singh. His friend, too, hails from the same village.

Cases under various IPC sections for murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act among others are registered against him at different police stations.
Kuhar said Sanjeet had come into contact with Sandeep Gadoli during their stay in Rohtak jail. “He was also involved in an incident of firing at a police team in Rohtak,” Kuhar said.
Cases under sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act are also registered against him. Police said he was involved in multiple cases of robbery and carjacking as well.
Shiv Kumar alias Neetu, a wanted criminal who is accused of lifting a Toyota Fortuner at Palam Vihar Vyapar Kendra, was also arrested by the Gurgaon police. A proclaimed offender, he had been involved in multiple cases of loot, murder, carjacking.
