The seven accused in the Gurgaon gangrape case were produced in a city court on Thursday afternoon. While six were sent to judicial custody, the seventh, a 15-year-old, was sent to the juvenile house in Faridabad.
According to the police, the alleged mastermind Amarjeet Singh alias Mota (24) was arrested on Wednesday. The police said five teams were formed to nab Singh and the teenage boy after they traced them through their mobile phones. They were arrested on the go, said a senior official.
"Singh was arrested from Old Delhi Road," said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (crime), Gurgaon.
The police had arrested the remaining five accused on Tuesday from under the Basai flyover Road by tracking their mobile phones. They were travelling in the same Maruti Alto car in which they had abducted the woman.
The woman, a resident of Badarpur, was abducted from outside Sahara Mall on Monday at 2.30am and raped in a rented house in Rajiv Colony, old Gurgaon. The house belonged to Amarjeet, who works with an automobile company.
The Gurgaon Police said the suspects, in the age group of 20-25, set their sights on the victim at the Last Chance pub in Sahara Mall, where they went drinking late on Sunday night.
A few hours later, the woman was chased, dragged out of her taxi, bundled into a car and raped in the rented house of one of the suspects, Amarjeet Singh, in Rajiv Colony, Old Gurgaon.
The victim told HT her 15-year-old brother, who was in the taxi, had informed the police about her abduction.
