I am a proud citizen of this dynamic city which I believe is very unique, like no other I have known. This pulsating metropolis leaves visitors awestruck by its architectural splendour, bright lights and glitz.
Apart from infrastructural amenities such as multistoried buildings, flyovers, golf courses, malls and multiplexes, Gurgaon's character is also defined by the coming together of modernisation and a centuries-old culture.
Yes, we have our own share of problems, including traffic snarls, power outages and water shortage, but all growing cities have to face such teething problems. Given the current proactive city administration, I am certain that these issues will be a thing of the past soon. The land mafia, encroachment and non-adherence to traffic rules are being dealt with severely by the authorities. This has infused a sense of enthusiasm among residents.
Gurgaon is home to people who have excelled in various professions. The city warmly welcomes lakhs of people from every corner of India with the promise of better opportunities. It is fascinating to me how numerous villages around Gurgaon prosper with the growing city. It is an unusual and amazing amalgamation where grassroots cultural ethos meets urban growth.
Where else will you find a city that provides facilities to the elderly and the retired, recreational and work opportunities to the youth, and global exposure to children?
