“Men are conditioned in a certain manner and each one of us has to change the gender norms. Men are willing to change but they live in a delusion,” said Kanta Singh, state project head, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Mothers discussed various issues during the one-day summit, which was organised by GurgaonMoms at Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday as a precursor to the International Women’s Day.

The summit talked about issues such as gender equality at home, finding inner peace and inner power, and positive parenting in today’s age.

The theme of the summit was #MomSureCan and the message was that mothers are multifaceted and they can achieve anything they want to today’s world.

Aparna Balasundaram, a psychotherapist, said, “Men are feeling displaced because of the changing scenario. In order to develop society, we need to provide a comfortable atmosphere for them to also accept the change and believe in it.”

“We gathered here to celebrate the occasion and also to strengthen the core element of society, which comprises mothers. A society can only flourish if mothers are happy as they inspire everyone to develop,” Neela Kaushik, founder of GurgaonMoms, said.
