Industry owners in Udyog Vihar have demanded that the potholed internal roads be repaired immediatelygurgaon Updated: Jul 06, 2017 23:35 IST
The industry owners of Udyog Vihar said on Wednesday that the potholed internal roads are a major cause of worry for them and demanded that authorities repair the roads immediately.
The industry owners said they have also written to the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) to fix the potholed roads as they feel that the condition of the roads will worsen in the rainy season.
Meanwhile, owners of industries and members of different associations of Udyog Vihar held a meeting after surveying the roads.
“After the recent rains, the conditions of several roads went from bad to worse,” said Ashok Kohli, an industry owner. The roads mainly in phases 3, 4 and 5 are in a poor condition and owners want refilling of deep potholes that damage vehicles in rain.
“Most connecting internal roads are full of deep potholes that surfaced after the recent rains even though the whole monsoon season is yet to come. If these potholes are not repaired urgently, commuting will be a big problem,” said Colonel (retired) Raj Singla, another industry owner.
“Commuting is a big worry for us. At places, potholed roads cause waterlogging and it results in slow traffic movement. We expect good roads as Haryana government gets maximum revenue from this area,” said an industry owner.
HSIIDC is the custodian authority of Udyog Vihar and, according to industry owners, was to repair internal roads six months ago. Arun Garg, deputy general manager, industrial area, HSIIDC, said, “We have started fixing potholes and repairing roads in phases 2 and 3 and we will complete the same in all phases soon.”
