The two faculty members are from different branches of Ryan group of schools. The school reopened after 10 days on Monday but was again closed after directions from the deputy commissioner over safety concerns at the school.

An eight-year-old student was found dead with his throat slit inside the institute on September 8. The murder of the class two student in the prestigious school brought the safety of school children into sharp focus and sparked protests in many parts of the country.

A conductor of a school bus has been arrested over the murder and the state government has handed over the probe into the incident to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The construction work also began on Tuesday morning and the officials said the boundary wall would be built first along with other safety measures. The security lapses will be rectified at the earliest, school officials said.

“Das has joined as a school head and her appointment was done by the management before I took over as administrator. I have decided to retain her as the head. Atthikal hasn’t joined yet,” said Vinay Pratap Singh, deputy commissioner, Gurgaon.

Earlier Neerja Batra was officiating as school principal and she was in-charge since April after Rakhi Verma resigned as principal. Batra is working with the Ryan group for the last 20 years and she was suspended after the incident.

“We have received the circular about the new appointment and we never had problems from the earlier faculty. The management remains the same. We will only send our children since the district administration has taken over, else we do not trust the management anymore,” said Rekha Raghav, a parent.

The school also assured parents that they are in the process of implementing security and safety measures.

They have also appointed a full-time safety and security officer (SSO) who will look into all various safety and security aspects of the school.

The school will also issue ID cards for parents and these will be delivered to parents through their wards in the next three working days.

“We hope to complete the process at the earliest and have ID cards made available to parents. These will be sent to through the children. Going forward, no parent will be allowed into the school without a valid ID,” read the circular.

The school has also issued instructions that all visitors will need to take prior appointments before coming to the campus and will require a valid ID proof to enter the premises. They will be issued a visitor pass from the gate.

Additional CCTV cameras are being installed to cover the entire premises, including corridors, staircases and the area outside washrooms.

Additional and adequate helps will be recruited to ensure monitoring of washrooms and premises at all the times.

The school has also appointed new security guards and additional guards have been deputed in key areas.
