An Uber cab was stolen by three persons at gunpoint on Sunday night in Sector 5, Gurgaon.

This is second such incident of carjacking in the last one week. Last Saturday night, robbers had stolen a Maruti Swift from Palam Vihar from a resident of Bijwasan who works in a logistics company.

Police said Anil Kumar, the car driver and a resident of Dwarka in Delhi, lodged a complaint that three men had booked his Maruti Swift on Sunday night around 11pm. Kumar said that men told him that they wanted to go to Gurgaon railway station from Sector 23 in Dwarka.

When the vehicle reached the Daulatabad flyover near the railway station, one of the accused took out a knife but when the driver resisted the carjacking bid, another accused pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot him.

The trio thereafter pushed the driver out of the car and stole his mobile phone as well. A case has been registered in Sector 5 police station. A police official said the matter is being investigated by the crime branch team.

Last Saturday, four carjackers snatched a Maruti Swift from Raj Kumar, who works as a driver with Agarwal Movers and Packers, a logistics company.

The accused were allegedly carrying weapons and stole the vehicle when Kumar parked the car on the roadside and went out to relieve himself.

Palam Vihar SHO Sandeep Kumar said a case has been registered and police are investigating the case.
