Many children made brush strokes on canvas to create beautiful painting in Uniworld Gardens 1, Sohna Road, on Sunday. The best paintings will be displayed at prominent spots in the condominium.
The idea was to get residents to express themselves through paintings. The residents’ welfare association (RWA) of Uniworld Gardens 1 has planned a slew of similar events throughout the year.
The RWA chanced upon the idea when members were discussing about beautifying walls of the eight towers and the clubhouse complex. “While brainstorming, we thought the best way to do it was to get our in-house artistes involved. It would provide a platform to showcase the talent in Uniworld,” Nirlipt Singh, president of the RWA, said.
An art workshop was organised on Saturday and Sunday in which 25 children in the age group of eight to 14 participated. Each tower of the condominium was given a colour and theme. The outcome of the workshop was beautiful paintings.
The workshop was facilitated by Atul Shinde -- an art graduate who has been working with children for 15 years. “It’s the first time I’ve been associated with something so unique. It will be encouraging for children to see their work on display,” Shinde said.
Ritika Chopra, the organiser of the event, said,” It has been an amazing experience; we have discovered so much hidden talent in our society’s children.”
Nine-year-old Shrihaan, a participant, shared his experience and said, “This workshop was amazing. I learned how to do acrylic painting and new techniques which I had never done earlier.”
Thirteen-year-old Devina said, ”I am excited about seeing my painting on the lobby wall...”
