With a few days left for the inauguration of the swimming pool at Huda Gymkhana Club in Sector 4, deficient facilities have invited the ire of the local residents. Owned by Huda, the pool is run and managed by a private contractor.
With the temperature soaring each day, swimming has become a hot sport for many. Though most of the residential complexes have their own swimming pools, some pools also witness non-members too.
The residents feel that the broken tiles in the pool could severely hurt the swimmers. The contractor has not carried the renovation work before announcing to open it.
Amit Arora, general secretary, RWA sectors 4 and 7, said, “How can the contractor risk the life of innocent people? These tiles are completely broken and iron steps are not properly fixed. And if any mishap happens who would be held responsible?”
There are two pools in the club which narrate the story of pathetic attitude of administration. The pools are not properly cleaned and residents are worrying that about hygiene and cleanliness. The residents wonder that if this is the condition now, then how they would maintain the same after some time. Davinder Lamba, contractor of the pool, said, “We don’t know that the tiles are broken and there is a problem with the stair case. We will repair them before the pool is opened to people.”
