The discoms Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited ( HVPNL ) are expected to complete the uploading work by the end of this month. The initiative has been launched under the government’s Restructured Accelerated Power Development & Reforms Programme project.
The four sub-divisions to be covered under the project are Qadipur, South City, DLF and Maruti.
Under the initiative, electrical identification modems will be placed on high-tension lines and sub-stations to control voltage and overloading, which will help both the transmission and distribution agencies of the state to regulate the electricity supply.
A senior official of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam ( DHBVN) said that overloading, which is a major concern particularly in Gurgaon, can be easily monitored.
The official said as the supply will be regulated through technology, the outages being caused by overloading would not take place.
Earlier, when consumers complained about any problem, resolving it would take time as locating the problem itself would take time.
However, after the launch of the initiative, any fault would be solved easily without causing much inconvenience to the consumers. The process will also help consumers pay their bills online.
In Gurgaon, there have been cases of consumers receiving inflated monthly bills because of incorrect calculation of units consumed.
