Junior engineers and sub-divisional engineers of Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) on Wednesday boycotted a meeting called by Huda administrator Praveen Kumar to protest the suspension of their three colleagues.
The move came after Huda Junior Engineers' Welfare Association decided to boycott all meetings called by the administrator till the suspension is revoked.
Two junior engineers, OP Dalal and KK Sheoran, and a sub-divisional officer, HS Jakhar, were suspended for failing to complete a task assigned to them by the administrator in time. These officials were "punished" for not carrying out repair work of Southern Peripheral Road "satisfactorily".
The administrator also recommended issuing a memo against Huda executive engineer Kartar Singh, as SPR falls under his jurisdiction.
The members boycotted a meeting called by the administrator on Wednesday to discuss civic issues with Sector 21 residents.
The association said it would continue with the boycott till Huda chief administrator DPS Nagal takes a call on the issue.
"We are waiting for the chief administrator's decision. We hope he would take an impartial decision," said Mahipal, general secretary of the association.
"We have decided to attend meetings that are very urgent and that too during office hours," added the general secretary.
He said a meeting with state level committee of the union is likely to be held in a day or two.
I have told the JEs and SDOs and EEs to work honestly and properly," said Nagal.
