The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has launched a short messaging service (SMS) facility through which it would keep all its allottees informed about each step of their transaction relating to property.

An allottee is required to update his contact details and mobile phone number by logging his allottee account ID on the Huda website ( or manually submit it at any Huda estate office.

Once the SMS facility is activated, allottees would regularly get information and alerts on each step of their transactions such as acceptance or rejection of applications submitted at the single window, uploading and adjustments of his payments against the property, current outstanding dues and schedule of the future payments.

The facility, senior officials said, would lessen the number of defaulters, for, timely information about any payment or requirement of document, would yield positive results and thus lessen litigations emanating because of absence or delay of information to the allottee, besides enhancing efficiency in Huda functioning and increasing its revenue.

This is yet another initiative by Huda towards e-governance. Huda has already bagged two national awards for being the best IT-enabled public sector unit in the country. While records of all 3 lakh Huda properties across Haryana have been digitised, an interactive online portal was also launched.
