The city police have arrested two people involved in a dozen of car thefts in the city and other NCR towns. The police have recovered eight vehicles and forged documents from their possession. The vehicles recovered included four Mahindra Bolero, two Hyundai Verna, one Tata Safari and one Tata 407.
“The gang used to steal vehicles as per demands from clients from Gurgaon and other cities. This is a multi-layer gang which used to operate across the state. The accused are the resident of Bhiwani district,” said Maheshwar Dayal, deputy commissioner of police (east), Gurgaon.
Meanwhile, the police also claimed to have arrested two people, including a student, in a one-year-old murder case.
The accused were identified as Sandeep Kumar, a BA student, and his cousin Hardeep. They allegedly killed mini truck driver Mahender Kumar on October 4 last year as they wanted to take his money to buy liquor, Dayal said.
