Free access for strangers, inadequate supply of water and frequent power cuts have become the part and parcel of the lives for the residents of DLF Phase 1, A-block extension.
The so-called posh colony of more than 200 families get water supply for hardly ten minutes in the morning and evening daily. According to the residents, despite repeated complaints authorities have failed to solve their problems.
Though this is the only colony in the entire city, where roads are better but safety and security arrangements seem to be at the mercy of God as people living in the neighbouring Chakkarpur village can easily trespass the colony.
Residents also complain that trucks, tempos are parked inside the colony, squeezing open space and creating traffic bottlenecks. Besides, the drivers of these vehicles consume alcohol and create nuisance for others.
There a piece of land that does not belong to DLF and so the developer cannot raise a boundary wall. This has become a common entrance for all the trucks and tempos.
"The authority should construct a slip road from DLF Megacity Mall to Bristol Chowk, else the passage would remain accident-prone for motorists, said one of the residents.
Residents say that several residential plots are being used for commercial purposes.
The authority, however, said it was unaware of the problem but assured of quick solution.
“I was on leave for 45 days and have recently joined back. But I assure that problem of illegal parking in the area would be certainly be solved,” said Mukesh Solanki, estate officer 2, Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda).
