I have been living in Gurgaon for the past three years. My family shifted here from Lodhi Colony in New Delhi mainly for peace and better living.
My family was of the opinion that we would not have to face parking problem, traffic congestion, etc here. But we all were wrong. When we started living in Gurgaon, we realised that apart from other issues, lack of a market place is a major problem.
Shopping for our daily needs has become a nightmare. We have to travel at least two kilometres for daily household items. There is a site earmarked for a shopping complex in my sector, but the government authorities have never bothered to develop it. The resident welfare association also claims to have written several times to the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) but nothing happened. This is terrible.
At times, my wife and children are compelled to walk on foot to buy something if I am not available. There is an acute shortage of medical stores in the area. I would like to request the Huda officials to look into the matter and resolve the crisis at the earliest. The issue of urgent need for a shopping complex has been raised in several meetings with the Huda officials.
At the same time, I also want the local association take care of the security issue.
