Car-borne miscreants recently snatched a bag containing Rs. 3 lakh from the manager of a transport company. The money was to be paid to the workers of the transport firm.

The incident took place at Maharana Pratap Chowk, also known as MDI Chowk.

Police officials said victim Rajnikant Shukla (45) collected money from the Sector-14 branch of ICICI Bank and was returning to the office of Mahavir Transport Company in Sekho village on a motorbike.

On the way, Shukla was intercepted by an Alto car after which he lost balance and fell from the bike. Before he could get up, one of the men snatched his bag and fled.

Though Shukla called for help, he could not note down the car’s registration number.

He was later admitted at a private hospital in Delhi.

Inspector Parveen Malik, SHO, Sector-18 police station, said, “We have registered a case. We’ve also asked the bank to provide us the CCTV footage. If the victim can identify the accused, we will trace them.”
