Three unidentified persons attacked a 25-year-old MBA student, robbed him of his car at gunpoint in Palam Vihar and later threw him in a field on their way to Delhi.

The incident took place on Saturday night when Gaurav Sharma, a final-year MBA student and a resident of Block A in Palam Vihar, had gone to a nearby park for a walk and parked his Hyundai i10 car outside.

When he returned and approached his car, three men standing nearby tried to speak to him. One of them took him at gunpoint while another snatched the car keys and entered the vehicle.

The three pushed Gaurav at the backseat while one of them drove towards Delhi. The incident happened at around 9 pm.

“The victim used to go to the park every evening after coming back from his institute. He saw the trio standing near his car, but did not realise they were planning to rob him,” a police officer said.

“One of them approached him and started talking, but he did not take any interest. He was pushed in the car and threatened that he would be shot if he made any noise. He was thrown on the city’s outskirts late in the night,” the officer added.

Gaurav registered a complaint at Palam Vihar police station.
