The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), which is scheduled to place its budget for 2012-13 before the House on April 9, has failed to find a suitable venue for the meeting.
The MCG is already two months behind schedue in placing the budget before the House.
The reason for the delay is unavailability of a venue for the House meeting. The corporation does not have its own venue, where all officials and 35 councillors can sit together and discuss issues.
MCG meetinsg are usually held at conference hall of Mini Secretariat, Gymkhana Club at Sector 29 and John Hall at Civil Lines.
In the absence of these venues on March 28, the corporation shifted the next date to April 2. Still, it could not find a venue and now has postponed the meeting to April 9.
“The MCG commissioner is yet to pay attention to our demand to construct a big venue where meetings can take place. We have enough land around Vyapar Sadan at Sector 14 where currently garbage sorting takes place,” said Yashpal Batra, senior deputy mayor.
