A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a motor mechanic in Khandsa village on Saturday evening. The accused, 44, was arrested on Sunday, police said.
The victim complained to the Kherki Daula police that Jagdish Prasad, the accused, promised her a job and called her at a place in Khandsa. He offered her cold drink laced with sedatives and then allegedly raped her.
The police said that Prasad had been working as mechanic at a garage in the village for the past three years.
The accused, a native of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on Sunday morning from his room and sent to judicial custody by the duty magistrate.
“The victim went to her residence in Khandsa after allegedly being raped by the accused. When her husband returned home, he found her in an unconscious state and rushed her to the Civil Hospital. Doctors have confirmed that she was raped,” said Satya Prakash, investigating officer.
