A three-member neo-literate team of women from Haryana has won the first position in the national-level quiz programme “Shiksha ka Suraj” organised by the National Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA) during the International Literacy Day celebrations at Lucknow from September 7-9.

NLMA is under the HRD ministry. A spokesman of State Literacy Mission Authority (SLMA) said the first position was bagged by Kavita of Narnaul, Sona and Babli from Karnal.

He said these women were tested for reading, writing, mathematics and understanding skills. He said teams of neo-literates from across the country took part in the quiz. The winners were given LCD TVs.
