Classic couture of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Dodge and others sashayed their curves with hot and bold moves along the streets of the Millennium City.

More than 125 car models, including some of them dating back to 1909, and about 45 bikes from the good old days rolled out a nostalgic treat for car lovers during the third vintage car rally on Sunday.

Participants from Chandigarh, Kanpur, Jaipur, Mumbai and other places showcased their rare collections during the rally that culminated at 1pm at Leisure Valley Grounds here.

Yaseer, a proud owner of 1913 model Rolls Royce from Kanpur said, “It is an ancestral property. We never had to buy our vintage. It has been passed on to us.”

Some of the most popular vintage beauties at the event included the Willys Overland 1909 — the oldest among all — Rolls Royce 1912, Bentley 1947, and Rolls Royce Phantom 1 of 1925.

“All cars manufactured before 1939 are vintage cars and those post 1939 to 1960s are classic cars,” said Madan Mohan, the organiser of the rally and managing director of the restaurant, 21 Gun Salute.

Gurgaon’s deputy commissioner of police for traffic Maheshwar Dayal found the collection “the finest” of those he had ever seen.

“This is the finest collection I have ever seen. I was supposed to bring my car too, but plans changed,” said Dayal, who owns three vintage cars.

The rally was flagged off by Army chief Gen Bikram Singh from Panchsheel Club in Delhi.

“The idea is to present the rich royal heritage to the people of Gurgaon,” said Mohan.
