Pizza delivery boy robbed, four held

The Gurgaon police arrested four persons who assaulted and robbed a 30-yearold pizza delivery boy in the wee hours of Monday. Police has recovered his wallet and mobile phone from the accused.

The four accused were produced to the city court on Tuesday and were taken on one day police remand.

The accused were identified as Prabhat Kumar(19), Vijay Kumar(19), Man Singh(20) and Sandeep Singh(19), residents of Shahpur, Uttar Pradesh who lived in a rented accommodation in Silokhera village, Sector 30.

According to the police, the victim Maninder Singh a resident of Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh had been living in a rented accommodation at Silokhera village since the last three years.

Singh works in a pizza outlet at Huda Metro Station and was returning to his room after his shift got over at around 1:30am on Monday. When he crossed the circle towards South City, four men caught hold of him and asked him to handover his belongings.

Singh tried to resist but he was brutally assaulted by the four men and they snatched his mobile phone, his wallet which had his pan card, driving licence and Rs. 500 from him and fled from the spot.

Singh took help from a passerby and informed the police control room about the incident. He was rushed to a private hospital and was discharged after first aid.

ACP(crime) Rajesh Kumar said, “The victim gave his statement on Monday morning and within a few hours the Sector 40 police teams arrested the accused from their rooms and recovered the victim’s belongings.”

We have taken them on remand to investigate their involvement in other cases too, said police.
