A 47-year-old property dealer was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Tuesday morning near Udyog Vihar Phase 1.
The victim Ranbeer Pehalwan was out as usual for his morning walk when the incident happened.
ACP (Crime) Rajesh Kumar said: “The body was found outside a shoe manufacturing unit in Udyog Vihar Phase 1. He was shot thrice (two bullets in the head and one in the back). The incident took place around 6 am.”
Pehalwan is a native of village Kharkar in Jhajjar. He was living in Dundahera, Gurgaon at his maternal uncle’s residence for the past few years along with his younger brother Krishan.
According to the police, property dispute may be one of the reasons behind the murder.
Though the incident occurred in an area, which is used by workers to return home after their night shift, no one heard any gunshots.
The workers only saw the body lying in a pool of blood and informed the police control room. A team from Udyog Vihar police station was rushed to the spot. A case against unidentified persons was registered at the Udyog Vihar police station.
The police are looking at a property dispute angle. Since the deceased has two cases registered against him in Delhi and Udyog Vihar over a property dispute in Matiala. He had assaulted two brothers over the dispute who had registered a case against him. The deceased also had a licensed pistol in his name but was not carrying it at the time of the incident, the police said.
