The proposed foot overbridge (FOB) project in Sector 29 adjoining the Gurgaon Expressway has hit a roadblock as the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) has denied shifting the high tension power cables which are coming in the way.
"I have met HVPN officials four times and requested for a plan on how and when they plan to shift the lines to facilitate construction of the FOB, which is pending for the past seven to eight months," said NK Tomar, executive engineer, Public Works Department (PWD). He added that HVPN has also not submitted the estimated cost of the survey till now.
HVPN officials, meanwhile, told Hindustan Times that the PWD has to deposit some money for surveying the site where the power cables are posing a problem. "The PWD must deposit the survey fee first. Only then we will prepare the estimate of the shifting cost which may be around R2 crore," said a senior HVPN official.
Another FOB proposed at the Hero Honda Chowk on the expressway will also be affected if the Sector-29 project does not get clearance.
The PWD will submit the plan of the two FOBs to the state government through the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) for final approval.
