Seven-month-old, two family members killed in road accident at Manesar

Three members of a family, including a seven-month-old girl, were killed in a road accident at Manesar when a Rajasthan Roadways bus rammed into a Maruti car on Sunday evening.

Three members of a family, including a seven-month-old girl, were killed in a road accident at Manesar, 20 kms from Gurgaon, when a Rajasthan Roadways bus rammed into a Maruti car they were travelling in on Sunday evening.

Two others, who were travelling in the car, have been seriously injured and are undergoing treatment.

The driver of the speeding Rajasthan Roadways bus, going from Delhi to Jaipur, lost control and hit a Maruti Eeco car at Manesar, killing seven-month old girl Navya, her father Dinesh and her father’s sister, said the police.

Navya’s mother and brother, who were also present in the car, were injured and are battling for their lives at a private hospital. The impact of the collision was such that the bus driver fell on the car.

Dinesh, and his family, who are residents of Sikanderpur Bada village near Kherki Daula, were on their way to the Khatu Shyam temple in Sikar, Rajasthan .

Investigating officer assistant sub inspector Mandeep Kumar said that the bus driver lost control and rammed into the car.

“The Rajasthan Roadways bus hit the car near the NSG camp in Manesar. The driver lost control of the bus and rammed into the car. While Dinesh, his daughter and his sister died, his wife Saroj and son are seriously injured”, said Kumar.

The officer said that the bus driver fled from the spot, leaving the bus and the passengers in the middle of the road.

According to the police, although the stretch is prone to accidents, but since the last few months, there were very few incidents.

A case has been registered under section 279 (rash driving), 337 (hurting a person due to rash/negligent driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.

In separate hit and run cases, two persons were killed in Gurgaon district. Lokram, 55, died when an unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle at Binola on NH-8 in the wee hours of Monday while Sanjay Kumar, 30, was killed when a bike hit him in Fatehour on Sunday.
