Two days after the mysterious death of Delhi Police special cell inspector Badrish Dutt and his live-in partner Geeta Sharma, curious aspects about their lives have come to the fore.
Investigations have revealed that Badrish came into contact with Sharma in December 2011.
Dutt had hired Sharma’s agency to spy on his wife, who he thought was having an extra marital affair.
Following this, Sharma, a widow who lost her husband in 1993, entered into a relationship with him.
Gurgaon joint commissioner of police Maheshwar Dayal said, “Dutt had hired Sharma’s detective agency to keep a tab on his wife, who he believed was having an extra-marital affair. This is how the duo met. Dutt’s wife stays separately with their six-year-old daughter in Faridabad.”
Dutt would visit Sharma at her Ardee City apartment on a regular basis. However, Sharma’s 20-year-old son was not happy with his mother’s relationship and enrolled in a hotel management course in Singapore. He is currently in his second year of college.
“We will send a notice to both the families to collect the belongings. The flat belonged to Geeta Sharma and the house keys will be handed over to her family. Dutt’s belongings were also found at the house in Ardee City, which are currently in police possession. They will be returned once the investigation is over,” added Dayal.
Meanwhile, Sharma’s sister, who is studying at Manchester University in England, arrived with her brother to collect the body and took it to Mumbai for the last rites.
“While in jail, Sharma wrote a diary in which she wrote about her inmates, food, weather and sleepless nights. She also mentioned about how life was for her outside the jail. But we did not find anything with regard to the sequence of events that took place in the case,” said Dayal.
