A professor of the University Institute of Law and Management Studies (UILMS) in Gurgaon, who was arrested eight days ago for allegedly seeking sexual favours from a third-year girl student, was granted bail by a city court on Wednesday.
The accused assistant professor, Virendra Sindhu, 27, had filed the bail plea in the court of additional district and sessions judge Alka Malik.
Sindhu was arrested on April 8 after a 22-year-old girl student and a resident of south Delhis’ Saket area alleged that he had been pressurising her to give in to his sexual advances in lieu of good marks.
The girl student had produced audio clips of her conversation with the accused on the mobile phone. One such clip was recorded at the professor’s home where she claimed she went intentionally to record the conversation.
