Techie held for molesting woman executive

A 30-year-old software engineer employed with an MNC was arrested by the DLF City (Phase 2) police on Tuesday for allegedly outraging the modesty of another executive in DLF Cyber City. HT reports.

A 30-year-old software engineer employed with an MNC was arrested by the DLF City (Phase 2) police on Tuesday for allegedly outraging the modesty of another executive in DLF Cyber City.

The accused, Gaurav Bhatia, has been booked under Section 354, IPC, for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old woman.

Bhatia works as a software engineer in an MNC at Infinity Towers and had joined the office on January 7. He was produced in a city court on Wednesday and later released on bail.

The incident took place around 5:30pm outside Building No. 8 Infinity Towers when the victim, an employee of Aecom India and a resident of Lodhi Road in Delhi, was coming out of the building.

The complainant told the police that the accused allegedly made an obscene gesture at her and tried to outrage her modesty. The victim raised an alarm following which security guards deployed nearby nabbed Bhatia and handed him to the police. Inspector Jagdish Prasad, SHO, DLF City Phase 2, said, “We have arrested the accused from the spot.”
