A prominent five-star hotel chain on Sunday afternoon received a threat email, allegedly from terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM). The email was sent to Leela Kempinski and threatened to blow up their properties in both Delhi and Gurgaon. The email comes close on the heels of the Republic Day.

As the hotel chain's headquarters are located in Gurgaon, the FIR was registered at DLF City (Phase 2) police station against the IM under various sections of the IT Act.

"The email was received by Rogers Wright, the general manager of the hotel. It read: After Mumbai, it's Delhi's turn. It was sent by Abdul Aka of the Indian Mujahideen from indianmujahideen@gmail.com," said Maheshwar Dayal, said DCP (east), Gurgaon. The IM had reportedly marked a copy to the Delhi chief minister and Delhi police commissioner as well. Though Wright denied having knowledge of any such email.Dayal said, "We believe the email is a hoax. Receiving such emails before Independence Day and Republic Day is routine."
